Jordan Kraemer

Jordan Kraemer, PhD, is Director of Research at ADL’s Center for Technology & Society and an anthropologist of emerging media. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ADL takes no position in support of or in opposition to any candidate for elected office. The views expressed here do not necessarily represent the views of ADL. At ADL, Kraemer leads research addressing online hate and harassment. She is also the author of Mobile City: Emerging Media, Space, and Sociality in Contemporary Berlin, due out from Cornell University Press. Her work has appeared in Catalyst: Feminism, Theory, Technoscience; Global Perspectives; Anthropological Quarterly; and Fast Company, among others. Previously, she was an SSRC Just Tech COVID-19 Rapid Response grantee and a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Wesleyan University, and has taught feminist technology studies at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. She holds an MA in social science from the University of Chicago and a PhD in cultural anthropology from UC Irvine.
